I've been checking it out for years. One of my clients told me about it.

Way cool
It just so happens that the pic of the sombrero galaxy has been by desktop background for the last year.

Cool! I had no idea there were other amateur astronomers in the steel guitar community. I have a pic of the Sombrero Galaxy I took through my telescope posted on my site, http://www.dawson.lu
The Hubble pic is somewhat better - my telescope is home made and cost just a bit less .
I call it the Humble Space Telescope. The drive uses the changer from a crap German ABM steel I used to have. There's a use for everything.
Cheers Matt

Thanks Don. Nice photos also Matt!
I was bitten pretty hard with the Astronomy bug when the Hubble's first photos started appearing. I haven't gotten out much lately, but I have several telescopes and binoculars I use when I do. Never had much luck at Astrophotography though. I'm in awe of the amateurs that do such great work. There are 1 or 2 Star Parties I try to attend each year when I can. My 11 daughter won a nice little scope at the last one we attended.

Amazing. I have followed the space program since childhood, and I am still amazed at what is being accomplished. |

Great site. I have had it as my opening page on Netscape for a long time. These photos really put everything here on Little Ol' Earth in perspective, don't they?
I also recommmend Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy site.

I wondered what that was I tripped over in the back yard! Sounds like this one was a success - the last one basically put a big hole in the ground because the chute failed. Good - nice to see success afer hard work. |

Yeah Duane, I actually posted that yesterday in awe of the The Somberero Galaxy picture by the Hubble Telescope. But, yes the Stardust capusule being such a success is truly amazing. I just hope they got some dust. I think I'll go practice my STEEL GUITAR now b0b
