Today was really fun. I spent almost the entire day picking steel with Bud Hall at his store "Guitar Town" just outside of Evansville, Indiana. We placed my Emmons opposite his Mullen, put on some tracks, and picked for several hours. Bud is a quite gifted player and it was a lot of fun trading off licks. I myself, am a less talented hack, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying it! Bud is kind of short on stock on steels at the moment, but he does have a couple of entry steels including a Zum and a Carter Starter. He's got a good selection of Evans amps as well as some used NV 400's too!
Anyway... I had a ball. Thanks Bud!
Oh yeah... I'm going back out for a couple of hours at 11 am on saturday...

Hey Steve, I told you that you'd like Bud. They just don't come any better. I should have told you to ask to see the "Green Hornet". It's an old Z.B and man does it ever sound good. Steve, we're gonna be in Beaumont on Jan. 10th. Come out and see the show. Let me know if you can make it and I'll see if I can scare up some tickets for ya. Merry Christmas

Bud... Made it home in one piece. I had a really good time and thank you for putting up with me. Since our grandbaby lives right down the road from you, I'll be back. I sure hope you can make it to the TSGA Jamboree.
Rex, Thanks for the invite but I've got a prior engagement that evening. I'll keep an eye out though and maybe some time! I'd love to bring my stepsons grandpa to see Clay. He previously met Clay when Clay and his father in law where stranded off Galveston. He owned a home near Clays Galveston place, but had a stroke two years ago and was forced to sell it due to medical bills. He is unable to talk but he gets real excited whenever we mention Clay.
