Well, that ~'47 Fender Princeton lap steel I picked up a couple of weeks ago needs the pickup rewound.
Anybody have ideas on who to do it?
I want it just like it came from the factory, same wire, same turns, same resistance...etc.
I'm really fumin' over this as the guy said it was fine except for a broken power cord....
Anybody else had one of these old Fender string throughs rewound?

Great reputation, fast service, and lower prices.
My Fender 1000 pickup is due back...maybe today - and Jerry is VERY familiar with Fender pickups. I sent it last Friday! Under sixty bucks including shipping, wound to my specs.

Thanks for all the responses guys.
I want the thing wound just like it was from the factory.
Evidently, the loose insert was rattling around inside the bobbin and took out the windings.
Once I got it apart I could tell someone had taken it apart and messed it up. Maybe they were trying to fix it, I dunno....I'm pretty bummed about it though...
I think I'll give Jason Lollar a call and see if he's my guy, it sounds like he's the guy to do the vintage stuff....and with a quote from Jody, the Knight of Tweed, I don't see how I could go wrong with him.
Hey Jody, if a CD could get wore out from repeated playing, my Hot Club cd would surely be wore out by now. Do you think you'll ever record another steel CD?

I had Lindy Fralin rewind a pickup for my 1940 Epiphone lap steel. it was a mess.it came back quickly and the pickup now is perfect.
