Hey Larry,
I sure ditto what you said about Jody Cameron! One fantastic Steel Guitarist. I too got his CD last March at the TSGA Jamboree in Dallas and I was particularly impressed with his arrangement of "Motel Time Again" that Johnny Paycheck and Lloyd Green made famous and his arrangement of "We Could" by Allan JAckson. Folk's, this IS a must get CD. Go to www.jodycameron.com to get yours!

Jody is also a very nice person to know. At the last steel guitar meeting, Jody took time to talk with me and show me his set up and make suggestions on how I could make my own set up sound more like I want it to sound. He took a ride along with Jody Sanders and Billy Phelps on Orange Blossom Special at the last jam, and let me tell you, that guy can hold his own on most anything he feels up to picking. His speed picking skills are WELL up to par. He has a pretty unique style, he has a mixture of old country and new country and he really knows how and when to apply the licks. He is pleasure to listen to and a pleasure to visit with as well….James [This message was edited by James Sission on 11 December 2005 at 04:20 PM.] |

I am real proud of Jody Cameron. When we both lived in Angleton,Tx., I started him on steel guitar and he has never looked back. His touch and tone is excellent. Get out to these shows, and listen to Jody play, He will for sure be on the Mesa, Dallas, and Tulsa show next year. Pick up his new CD. You will be glad you did. You can also see Jody occasionally with Johnny Bush and Frenchy Burke. He will be one of the steel guitar torch bearers in the coming years. Jody. |

Jody is one of my favorite players as well. His CD is the perfect mix of styles that reflect Jody. He and Johnny Bush Nailed my favorite country song "Sound Of A Heartache". He has been a great freind and mentor to me as well as just being a nice guy. If you get the chance to see Jody you wont be dissapointed.
