I will be attending a conference in Phoenix on January 11-14th 2006. Looking for place to hear some good steel in the evenings.

Hi Marvin,
I'm waiting to hear if I'll be going to Phoenix the weekend of the 14-15 to do a George Strait tribute show at the casino there. I'll let you know when I hear.

It was mentioned in another post, but Danny Sneed plays at the Buffalo Chip in Cave Creek (far north end of Phoenix), John Rickard is with Harry Luge and Haywire and maybe Billy Easton's band is performing locally as well.

I'll be with either my own band or Young Country and a few dates (local) with The Gatlin's. Here's my schedule (which is apt to change so check www.mikeandt.com from time to time);

January 2006

2 Maricopa, AZ / Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino / 2 shows @ 1pm and 3pm / Mike & T Band

5 Cave Creek, AZ / Harold's / 9pm till 1:30pm / with Young Country Mike

6 Mesa, AZ / Valley Del Oro Resort / 4pm and 7:30pm / Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers featuring Mike

7 Palm Desert, CA / McCallum Theater, Indian Wells/ 8pm / The Gatlin Brothers featuring Mike

9 Tucson, AZ / Voyager RV Resort / 4pm & 7:30pm / The Gatlin Brothers featuring Mike

11 Yuma, AZ / Country Roads Resort / 4pm & 7:30pm / The Gatlin Brothers featuring Mike

14 Apache Junction, AZ / Road Haven Resort / 1 show 7pm (with intermission) Mike & T

18 Phoenix, AZ / Heritage Square corporate event / 7pm till 10pm Mike & T Band/MTB

19 Phoenix, AZ / Rustler's Rooste / Young Country featuring Mike

21 (t) corporate event TBA / The Mike & T Band/MTB

22 Phoenix, AZ / Rustler's Rooste / Young Country featuring Mike 6pm - 9:45pm

23 Sun City, AZ / Paradise RV Resort / 1 show 7pm Mike & T Band

26-28 Cave Creek, AZ / Harold's with Young Country featuring Mike 9pm till 1am (this is next door to Danny Sneed's gig)

29 Phoenix, AZ / Rustler's Rooste / Young Country featuring Mike 6pm - 9:45pm

30 Chandler, AZ / Wild Horse Pass Resort/ corporate event TBA / The Mike & T Band/MTB

You might check www.swsteelguitar.com as I think they have some links to some of the players like Billy Easton, Fred Justice, Wayne Paden, John Rickard and others.

Hi everybody
Mike Smith is a lot younger than me, but he is one of my heros. If you love Paul Franklin you'll love Mikey. Go see Mike.

Danny is perpetually about 25-years old (looks the same as when I first met him about 20 or so years ago...young). He'd also make a great publicist as he is extremely complimentary of others. One of these days I'm going to drag him into the studio so eventually others can hear what he plays me on the phone from time-to-time (just amazing stuff is all I can say).
