I have charted a new set-up for the Leavitt
Tuning incorporating Pedals and Knee Levers.
The basic tuning D-C-Bb-G-E-C# I kept intact and stayed with just the 6 strings.
Much time it took but I am very pleased with the results. After constructing the setup
the first song that seemed to "Pop out" was this popular standard that I first heard done by Frank and Nancy Sinatra.

Just to clarify, that's high to low (D, C, Bb, G, E, C#)
The tune sound great. Are you using the standrad C6th pedals to go to the tuning or are you retuning for it?

Ron,
The most obvious change in the setup is
a pedal raising string one a full and taking the sixth down a half. Knee lowers the third and that gives us C6th and/or A minor seventh.
Another lever raises three for the major 7th.
anoter raises four for the Aug +.
I still have 2 levers to add and the other two floor pedals, one of which is used in this song ,are still under construction.
I have played C6th for 50 years and this set up is an entirely different ballgame, different feel, different thinking etc.
I'm the only one that uses it and expect that will continue so if something goes
wrong I have no one to blame but myself.

Roy... I will follow your progress closely.
Please continue to post changes & soundclips etc.
If it makes sense I'll try it too- one of the most exciting aspects of psg is it's ability to be customized for specific needs- especially if you don't have to make a living playing one. |

P.S. The arrangement sounds lovely, I agree on the "can´t tell if it´s pedal or nonpedal" which is a great definition of MUSCAL playing......but it´s not a good advert for Leavitt because you always sound so good in so many different contexts.

Jeremy,
The guitar I am using on this peice is my D10 Carter. I restrung the back neck 1-6 only and did a complete re-roding for all the
changes.
Using ClicTab I was able to take each change and print out the complete fret board to search out the chords. Also fretboard printouts for pedal/knee combinations. I was also able to write a six string special tab
for the music showing the Pedals and Knee
movements.
This was a long project and I used a standard guitar comprehensive Chord
Book and this tuning can produce 'em all.
I am very happy with the results.

One further comment on why pedal/lever
changes are not "heard" for the most part in the arrangement. I simply practice engaging the change before playing the relative strings. There are only two measures
in the song free of pedal/knee engagments
,,so it is active in that regard.
