Okay now, this post is limited to those with a keen ear for individual styling, signature tone and/or tunings, and for non-pedal, console steel guitar playing.

Anyone know WHO this steel player is? It's on Columbia label and dates way back. Some of you might not be old enough to recognize the distinctive styling but give it a listen anyway. He's written any number of steel guitar tunes over the years.

Ray runs a tough game! Guess my ears aren't keen enough...Is it possible that he wants folks to go to www.jerrybyrdfanclub.com and scroll to the bottom of "About Ray"? --Steve

Okay, okay! You guys are great sports. That was just a test!
Well, not exactly, to be honest I was just bone tired when I posted this and I simply overlooked the most important part.
THANK YOU and yes........My challenge was to get you folks to visit "About Ray" on the jerrybyrdfanclub.com site and at the bottom of the page, check out the audio conroller for the new "mystery guest".
Can we try it again....... My apologies.
