Does anyone know if Fender produced a Stringmaster T-8 with a short scale? Especially later ones with the "blend" control.

22 1/2" scale Stringmasters are readily identifiable with 2 fret makers above the 24th fret.
24 1/2" scale models have 3 and 26" models have 4.

Hey Rick, did the Deluxes ever come in anything other than the 22 1/2 scale?

I don't believe so Andy. Early Fenders (Custom, Dual Pro, and early Deluxe) were all short scale, and as far as I know only the multi-neck Stringmasters came in longer scales.

Yeah, it's a nice one alright - it's got soul. I play it a lot. More pics of it are here.
