Howdy guys. I just packed up the GFI and wrapped her in plastic and put her on a table so she wont have to go swimming (in case of flooding). As field commander in the PD here, I have been called upon to assume duty at 4pm today and will not be able to leave until late Sunday if all goes well. Unfortunately, this is not my first Hurricane to work through on the street, but I think it may well be the worst one I have ever had to work in. Keep me in mind when you pray and pick a tune for me since I wont be getting in any practice for the next few days,at least...I hope to back on the axe monday. B. Seymour, Check your email my man...James

James, having worked in law enforcement, I realize the appreciations are not often expressed, so let me be one to tell you I appreciate your looking out for we in the public. Take care and sorry for your having to ride it out. Our prayers and thoughts are with you "guys/gals who serve."

Good luck, James and Scott. You guys have a long tough stretch coming it sounds like. But I'm sure what you are doing will mean a world of help for a lot of people.

Believe it or not, my Sister is Rita, but; I'm afraid I have no influence on her decisions about what to do or where to go! I just hope for the best! And please don't hold it against me!

As a 15-year former cop myself, I especially appreciate the men & women who have what it takes to do that job.

I am amazed, I don't know why, how many of those involved in law enforcement are also musicians. I am a retired cop now an agent with the Dept. of Justice and have been playing music for 30 plus years. LE and musicians are two brotherhoods that I cherish.

Be safe James and my prayers go out to all of you in LE putting in the long and scary hours in the hurricane paths.

Thanks for all the nice words guys. I spent 23 hours on duty and got sent home. On the drive home, the winds were about 60 + and it was quite an experience on the freeway in the wind and rain all alone. We pretty much dodged the bullet in our area. Again, thanks for all the kind words...And by the way, there are a lot of police officers that are musicians as well. I played in "Tin Star" an all police band for a while. There is also an all police band called "Hot Pursuit" in this area as well a Jazz band out of San Antonio PD. Take care....James
