Any E9/B6 universal players within public transportation range of Manhattan? I'm curious and would like to play a guitar with this tuning before making a decision.

Bob Hoffnar in Brooklyn used to play a universal. If he doesn't still play it. I'm sure he remembers how, assuming he still owns it.

Jon Light plays one and maybe Bob Parins has one in Brooklyn. I haven't had a U12 for years. If you can wait to decide you might want to book some private time with Joe Wright in Norwalk. He can show you the potential of the U12 and what you need to do to get there as well as anybody. Take a look at Reeese's Bb6 and Doug Livingston's extended E9 set ups as well.
