I really enjoyed the St. Louis show this year! I was especially impressed with a "Less known Steelman" by the name of ALBERT TALLEY! He played a very well rounded set! One of my favorites was "September in the rain"!! GREAT JOB Albert!! Oh yea, he is also President of the TSGA! Barb loved it also!!

Albert has two new fantastic CDs that he did with former Ray Price and Sons of the Pioneers fiddle player Dale Morris. Of course Albert also did some nice stuff with Bob Wills when he was a Texas Playboy in the 1960s. The review of Albert's two new CDs can be found in the review section of my "Swingin' West" web site. www.swinginwest.com

I agree-Albert had a great set. He is a smooth player, and I loved his selection of tunes. You can't go wrong with that Western Swing. I could hear the Bob Wills influence.

Hey Alberto !!!
I told you that "the cream would rise to the top". You played flawlessly in St. Louis and as everyone mentioned your set was made up of great song selection's.
For many of you that don't know Albert, not only is he the president of the Texas Steel Guitar Association he is also one of Texas' premier steel guitar players. Hopefully more of you will get to see and hear him in the future.
Just for the record, his wife, Debbie is a great vocalist.
Love ya buddy,
...Roy

Albert grew up in the Dallas area along with Tom Morrell, Billy Braddy, Bobbe Seymour and myself. We ran around together, played music together, supported each other, teased each other unmercifully, and raced our cars together. I am so blessed to have such great memories with the best friends anyone could ever have.

When MSA was first getting started Albert was one of the first to come to help us, and he done a terriffic job for which I will always be greatful.

He has always excelled in everything he has ever done. There was never a doubt in my mind that he would become one of the best of the best in everything he does.

Missing Albert's set was one my main regrets from not making it to ISGC this year. He always does such a super job.

I'm looking forward to getting to FINALLY work alongside Albert this Sat. nite in Aledo Tx. We're working with Carl Vaughan, and I've worked with many of the great steel players in the area, but it will be my first time with Albert. I hope I don't choke. Ha Ha.I've only met Albert a couple of times, and we've not had an oppertunity to set and visit, but I've heard of him around here for years, and everyone says the same thing. "He plays his Axe off!". He did tell me one time I had good tone, so I hope I can get it again.

I have heard Albert play only 2 times.....this year in StL and back in March at the TSGA Jamboree.....he was awesome both places. His tribute to the 100th anniversary of Bob Wills' birth along with Curtis Potter in Dallas made me think that perhaps he should think about doing the same next year to honor the 101st birthday anniversary. What do you think Albert?

Thanks to all of you for all your kind words. It was an honor to play St. Louis show.

On a sad note, we lost a great friend and steel player, Billy Braddy, about 12:30 am this morning. I'll have more info for everyone later. Let's remember Pat and the family in our prayers. Take care and God bless you all.

Albert is one of my most favorite people, friends and steel picker!! I've been busy relocating to Birmingham, AL from TX the last couple weeks and just saw the post. So glad to see so many express their thoughts regarding Albert's great playing...by the way, his wife Debbie is a terrific person who works so hard with Albert to make our TSGA a huge success...once again, I think Albert's one of the best anywhere!
