Leavitt Tuning: one more string?

So, any ideas on adding one more string to Leavitt tuning for my seven string?

John,
I put a "B" in the first position guage
017 and leave the D-C-Bb-G-E-C# intact.
This give an instant root chord major 7th and the V chord major triad.
I also put an "E",,, guage 056 in the 8th position. This expands the range to equall the standard guitar and gives a lower inversion of the C Chord.
I did a song sometime ago with this set up
and if you wish I can email the MP3 to you so
you can hear how it sounds.
I hope you persue the Leavitt tuning and
have fun while doing so.

Roy, I'm not sure what you mean by putting a B in the first position - would that then make the tuning (hi to lo) B D C Bb G E C#? Then by adding an E in the 8th position, would that be B D C Bb G E C# E?

Roy just sent me an email this morning about the same topic. When he speaks of positions he means the same as strings. His low 8th string (position) is an E.

His first string (position) is a B. The B is two steps lower than his 2nd string (Position)D so don't let that throw you off. It is not a high B above the D string!

Thanks to you both - I was thrown by the B (I couldn't imagine tuning to a high B).

Thanks for the help Bill.

As an E9 Pedal Steel player I am used to
chromatic strings placed above the tuning.
Sorry for the confusion.
