Barry--that was Ralph on "I'll Take a Chance
On Loving You." That still is one of my favorite Ralph solos; and there are so many
to pick from...

I want to add that the Sundazed reissues have cleared up (what for me anyway was) a lot of confusion about whether it was Ralph
or Jay McDonald playing on specific songs.
Sometimes I could guess pretty well; the best
way I could describe it was that Moon's playing was spunkier at times. But when I thought I had it pegged on other tunes, it
turned out to be Jay. In the end, they're both great players; Ralph may have been the
style originator, but Jay's playing on Buck's
stuff turned out to be just as integral to the songs he played on.
Now, will anybody ever solve one the greatest
"whatever happened to" mysteries in steel guitar history?
