I came on this tuning by accident.
F#
E
C#
B
G#
F#
E
D

I had originally wanted to tune
the first string to G# but my tuner wouldn't tune it up that high,
so I settled on F#.
I'm finding out all kinds of neat things with this tuning.

I have used many variations of the E13 tuning, and although the F# is good I think you might find that if you tune the top string to a D# instead of F#,you'll discover a lot of C6 possibilities by working out of the B6 mode. Just food for thought.

Andy-- FWIW, that's the middle 8 strings of Tom Morrell's 10-string E13 (non-pedal)...he uses an E on the bottom and a G# on top. You're in good company! Any of those discoveries of yours sound like jazz? --Steve

Ya, it does sound a tad jazzy, which is fine with me. I have a double eight national. I have the bottom neck tuned to C6th.
E
C
A
G
E
C
A
F
I'm having way too much fun with both necks.

Andy, I ran that C6th tuning for a while
this morning with some very interesting
results. Thank you for posting it. I think
that I will get a lot of mileage out of it.
