I guess I could add some stories to this thread.

But none of them have a moral to them, or make any sense - and not too many of them have a humourous component... so I'll pass.

People don't seem to understand how fragile we are. I'd put a flower in my hair if I had any hair left.
Peace.

[QUOTE]But now 12 years without a drink of booze and learned to turn the other cheek; I'm sober and choose not to fight.[/
quote]

Reminds me of Bobby Bare's oldie:
"You remind me a lot of your younger days
with your knuckles clenchin' white,
But I'm just gonna sit right here and sip this beer all night,
And if there's somethin' you've gotta gain or prove by winnin' some silly fight,
Well, OK, I quit, I lose -- you're the winner."

Great old song!

I hardly ever play anyplace anymore except Churches and nursing homes, so I thought everything was safe. About three years ago in a Columbia mississippi nursing home, one lady in her eighties and in a wheel chair was at a table right near us in the band, she left her table to go to the bathroom and while she was gone a man also in a wheelchair pulled into her place, well she comes back and ask him to move and he refused , so she leans over anc clobbers him right in the face and the fight is on. It took a couple of nurses to break it up, so you're never safe no matter where you're pickin. another story for another time outside a casino in Sparks Nevada.

Thanks for the warning, Larry, I'm headed out to Rockaway this weekend! Good thing I'm goin' with my buddy Krobar (there's a reason they call him that but that's for another forum).

Dave,,

Used to be a little run down club outside of Garabaldi called Pirates Cove, had a yrs. sit down gig there 6 night a week in the mid 70's. Great, fun place.

While you're over there check it out, let me know if it's still there. Was right across the road from the Coast Gaurd Station.

Have fun, those people used to love to party!!

BTW that's one place you NEVER saw a fight!!

I'm not much of a fighter these days, but the few fights I've had in clubs, I've always ended up being friends with the girl.
