I was watching a Sting concert the other night on television and saw BJ Cole playing pedal steel with him. Today I was listening to Gerry Rafferty on the City To City album and came upon a great song called "Island" that I had forgotten about and there was BJ Cole again (listed as Brian Cole back then) in this beautiful song with a very simple but tasty steel part- done in the mid to late 70's. My appreciation for what he's accomplished has been really enhanced. Looking at his discography is impressive.

Is BJ Cole a member of the forum? I have an old Alan Parson's Project CD (I Robot), that has him listed as the steel player. The album was mixed at Abbey Roads. The song was "Day after day" Anyone know any updates on him? I love that album. Thanks.

Yes I think he is a forrumite.

I saw him play last spring at The Bristish steel show.
He was masterful playing that ol' Bigsby style steel.

I also heard there is a new cd wandering around but only in England.

Two of BJ Cole's CDs are available from the Forum catalog. Real good music. BJ is a member of the Forum.

great player and musician. If y'al have access to Sting's "Brand New Day" CD, that's B.J. playing some great uptempo fill on the "Fill Her Up" cut. Made me an instant fan wantin' to hear more.
