Thank you all for the welcome. I've owned a steel for over 20 years. Would like to say I've played that long, but with a shift work job, you have to fit it in, and I did, doing local, and out-of-state weekend jobs with a band. I'm a retired lab tech as of Jan 1981, and had to go through two cancer operations thereafter, but am still here. To be positive about any future longevity, I ordered a new Emmons LeGrande last November, and am looking forward to the day it arrives. My Carter is a fine guitar. I just wanted an Emmons, as I sold my last Emmons and miss it. Carter makes a beautiful, fine guitar. They're great people to deal with, if not the best. A good friend and great steel player is waiting to buy the Carter when the Emmons arrives. I really appreciate reading the great notes on this forum, as well as being a part of your elite group. God bless all.
