Last evening I had the pleasure of catching Herb's performance in this musical in Austin.

Herb was great. His picking on the on the high doubleneck Fender was much fuller and musical than the original music. He played Dobro and a flat top and also had to sing, be a stage hand, and last but not least act.

Three of the seven cast members were regular members of the repertory theater. The band, Herb, fiddle, and bass as well as Hank, were all musical artists. Herb had a near soliloquy at the end, as a radio DJ, that was very touching.

So if you are in Austin, and want to see a bunch of steel guitar, have a beer and watch the show, catch Herb at the Zachary Scott Theater.

Herb, aren't those gigs great? I recently (a couple of years ago) worked a Bob Wills theater production of "Take Me Back To Tulsa". I was McAuliff, but had no lines to speak....all I had to do was play some of those good old Bob Wills classics!

Go Herb! Sounds like great fun, wish there were more of these kinds of shows. We need someone to bring a show like this to Mexico City, get country music going down here.

If I were anywhere near Austin I would sure check this out. I only got to hear Herb live one time up in Dallas and he was awesome! A great guy and a fantastic picker.
