I was wondering if anybody out there could give an update on Bruce. He is a great player. I really admire his work. I've got his E9th tape from Homespun video lots of good instruction on it. Johnny |

Can't give you an update, but I think Bruce is one of the smoothest/fastest pick blockers out there. Great player for sure!

Saw Bruce last Sunday night on the Reba McIntye concert in Raleigh NC; he did some nice steel in limited quantiy - about as much on dobro...which we done well.
My wife said on the way home (after watching Reba), it was not very country...however, we did see Dale Watson the Wednesday before - with Don Pawlok on steel...she liked that much better; probably he is my favorite singer and picker now..best band... |

Ricky, if you are on, what did you think about the Dale Watson show? Know you are a great fan of Bruce, but Don with Dale Watson sure held his own; what do you think? |

I play with the opening act on tour with Reba, and it's great to hear such a great steel player with such a great band. The steel is plenty hot in the mix... great tone from the Carter.

Joe Nichols opened in Raleigh and was the best country music we heard that night; even did "Farewell party", and has a great voice and band...Terry Crisp was the steel player and was loud and clear. Good job guys.. |

Reba is doing thirty dates this year. I was fortunate enough to be asked to be part of the band. While it is not a hard core country gig it is still a thrill to be playing on the big stage with a great nine piece band and a great entertainer. I'm also able to hear two great steel players each night. I'm also getting to hang out with Kevin Post and Randle Curry. They've got Terry Clark and Brad Paisley backing them up.I'm calling it the "lick a day tour" since I'm going to actually try to absorb
some of the remarkable talent of those two lads.
It was also great to hear Terry Crisp for three nights last week. That's a steel players steel player if I ever heard one. Brilliant and incredibly underated.
Jay Jessup , your'e right. Charlton never taught either one of us to pick block. I still can't do it.
Cheers!

Hi Bruce,
Glad all seems to be going well for you. I did try pick blocking for a while but went no where with it, I can stop a few notes with my thumb or ring finger occasionally but that's about it. Shoot on my now infrequent forays on steel I am still trying to get my right hand into 'the position'. Stay well, Jay |

Hi Bruce,I was wondering what set-up you use. Is it the same one you used on your Learn to Play Pedal Steel Guitar(Homespun) video. What about adding a 4th pedal.Your Friend and admirer Johnny Prevento |

Does anyone know if bruce has another video other than the learn to play on homespun? That helped me so much. If not I wish someone could talk him into making a more advanced video. |

I dug through the archives and found Bruce's take on the Garth records. I must say that it has made me se Garth in a much different light. I have to admit that I did own a Garth C.D. until my truck was broken in to. Lots of good steel on there.

Anybody catch Bruce on the Today show this morning? I caught one tune while on the way out the door to work, Bruce was on the center of the stage on the riser next to the drums and was very audible in the mix, it looked a little chilly but it sounded good. |

Now Gary, take it easy on Bruce.
Actually I couldn't tell if it was Bruce or not at first, everybody had black hats and leather jackets on and it looked cold! The focus was on Reba at the front of the stage so he was a little fuzzy looking. |
