Builder of cast aluminum/bronze frypan style steel guitars, innovative pickup designer and long time HSGA member Rick Aiello will debut his new line of "Dustpan" steel guitars at the HSGA Joliet 2005 convention October 13-15, 2005.

We are honored that Rick chose our convention for the debut of these beautiful instruments.

Rick Aiello is graciously donating two of these guitars as a fund raiser for the HSGA.

A silent auction will be held at the HSGA Joliet 2005 convention for these magnificent instruments.

Auction details:
HSGA Joliet 2005 - Aiello Dustpan Auction

These guitars are currently in construction and will be completely finished, professionally setup and ready to play in time for the convention. Visit the site frequently to watch the progress of construction.

Proxy bidding:

If a bidder cannot physically be in attendance at HSGA Joliet 2005, he or she may bid by proxy.

The bidder can assign a convention attendee as proxy to bid for them. It is then the proxy's responsibility to pay for, and take possession of the guitar at the end of the auction.

The bottom line is that a real live person must be bidding. No phone or e-mail bids accepted.

Rick,

What a beautiful gesture. You're the greatest, and the HSGA is a most worthwhile cause.

Wow, we just finished installing our first Aiello/Lollar MRI string thru on a Harmos guitar and it sounds awesome! It was a challenge to keep the guitar from slowly melting into a gob of super-sweet carbon fiber. Bidders at HSGA will be getting a real treat!

Thanks for all this Gerald ...

As the folks that have bought one will tell you ... I really enjoy taking pictures of "the days work" ... and sending them to my customers.

Kinda a "treat" for me at the end of the day ...

Just like last year ... I'm puttin' in very long hours tryin' to get these things ready ... and can't find time to practice much ...

I did take time this morning to make "correct" chord charts ... for this year's stage performance ...

Here's the knobs ... freshly cast ...

I promise y'all ... there will be some "stunning specimens" there this year ... !!!

I will post photos & also send them to Gerald ... of the finished two auction steels ... by weeks end.

Rick, you were already one of my favorite humans, but this takes the cake. Your talent and generosity is humbling, to say the least.

BTW, are you any relation to the Aiello family on Amazing Race this season?

Howard ... remind me to tell you my "specimen" story ...

Dan, thanks for the kind words. If the TV show is not on Nickelodeon or the Cartoon Network ... "it don't get seen 'round here" ...

As far as my extended family ... the probability of seeing my relatives is much greater on a show like Cops ...

Havin' the HSGA convention in Joliet ... is kinda like a "Homecoming" ...
