Yes folk this is as good as it gets. When a fellow steeler just sends you his personal property and KNOWS the check will come back his way, all because of a gut feeling about this brotherhood of steel guitar players.
Thanks Jim Johnson, the check goes in the mail Monday.
This is like the good old days when you didn't have to lock up your house or your car even for a minute. My dad, while in the Navy in WWII, could leave large amounts of money on his bunk on the ship and every cent would be there when he got back. Trust, it is hard to come by these days, but here on the forum and within the brotherhood we still have it. AND I LOVE IT. God bless each and every one of you. The Lord lives in the lives of many still today.

There are people over here in The Netherlands that I know better than my fo'bro's.But ain't it weird that I trust the people on the forum more than those people?I'd rather do business over here than in The Netherlands.It's just because we are such a great big family that I think that way.You just have to ask something and you will get an answer.It doesn't matter how silly that question is.Newbies will get a warm welcome every time and they are overwhelmed with good advice.I just want to say that I am proud to be a member of this family.I pray that God Bless you all.

Yes Larry I echo what you said. I just did a tansaction with a guy in PA. He sent me the merchandise before I sent the check for it!

I've purchased several Ricks from a Forumite who resides in southern California. On the first one, my wife was actually getting details on one of his Ric's.... specifically on how he might want to work out the payment and shipping so as to make it all happen.
When she told him my name, he said in essance: "Oh, I'll ship it out today and just send the check to..........." He made no demands on certification of the check or whatever.
I'm more than happy to mention his name however I don't want to place him in any kind of awkward position relative to his anticipated many future sales.
He knows who he is and I thank him very much. A great Forumite to do business with.

Ditto, Jerry Wallace, Bobbe Seymore, Bill "Rayline", Duane and Jeff, just to name a few.
People on the forum have sent me stuff FREE, and demanding NO Payment.
It's so nice to know that there is honor between us, and that a man's word IS his bond. It's worth the loss when you find somebody that can't be trusted. (Unless it's over 5 bucks...)
Handshakes, and especially contracts are only superfluous (sp) formalities. Neither are any better than the hand that seals them.
This IS a great place for it.

As a forum member for a couple years now I am glad to hear all the positives about selling on the forum because I am getting up the nerve to post my Gibson ES-335 and LeGrandeII on here so I can buy a new steel. I'm sure it will be listed soon. I just need to figure out how to post and send pics since I don't have a digital camera to just zap them through cyber-space.

I'm a newby to the forum, and I have to agree with you all. When I first got a PSG in the earley 90's, I had a piece break. I contacted someone in Florida, I think it might have been Bill Ray's? Is he in Florida? Anyway, he told me the amout and shipped it and told me to just send a check. He told me that I was a picker and he trusted me. I traded a D10 for a S10 with a guy in South Carolina. We sent our PSG's to each other strictly on trust. We tried the instruments for a week and made it a trade. Makes me feel good to know that there is still some trust in the world.

I'm a newby on this forum. Thankyou to Larry for bringing thit up.
For me it started in 1976 when I bought my Korg tuner WT-10A and my Sho-Bud volumepedal from Scotty, send him the money and got the things later. In 2002 when I Played at The Norsk Hostfest, Minot ND I ned a Nashville 400 amp and I bought it from Larry, send him the money and it was in Minot ND before I arrived
The same day I boght another Nashville 400 fron Duane, send him the money and picked the amp up in Nashville at Al Perkins Place a week later.
Same thing happened when I bought my new Zum - paid the money to Bruce and the steel was in my hometown the day it was promised.

I bought some pedal rod extenders from Bobbe Seymour a few weeks back. Not thinking I didn't specify thread size, when I got them, they wouldn't fit. e-mailed Bobbe, told him my problem, He immediatly answered my mail and told me the right ones would go out in the mail the next day!! No questions asked! The next morning I mailed the other ones back to him. This might not mean much to other people, but to me it meant everything!! Don't know of any other place except the "steel guitar" community where this happens,
