I was watching grand Ole Opry Live today and was watching Joe Nichols perform Farewell Party. I didn't catch the name of his steel man, I sure liked his sound. He has a nice sound, smooth, with alot of finess. Does anyone know who this is?
Thanx,
Dan

Terry's one of my favorite steel players. If you've not heard him with Ricky Skaggs you need too find those recordings. Sweeeeeeeet!!
He recorded an album several years back
"Burnt to a Crisp" that has some fine playing it too. Just my little 2 cents.

Terry Crisp definitely plays steel for Joe Nichols. I had an opportunity to meet Terry in 2001 because he was at the place where I was a karaoke singer, and at the time, he was Reba McEntire's steel player. I met him a few years after I started playing steel. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

yes, Terry, considering that during Farewell Party Joe introduced Terry on Steel I would say that was a give away..

Some of this show would be good to watch again on the repeat, TW was on camera a few times with some very "TW " playing.

I think Vince needs to lay off the Krispy Kremes.....

Did anybody happen to catch the kind of steel TW was playing on that show? They showed just a short clip of TW..(like they always do)..and not long enough for me to catch much of the steel. As I remember it looked like it had "longhorn" logal/decal on it..I'm not familiar with the manufacture..thanks

TW was playing a "Fessy" Fessenden steel. And Jerry makes "em" good.

So, I don't know if it's right or not, but is Joe Nichols any kin to Joe Paul Nichols of Jacksboro, TX?

Just wondering....
