Steve, what steel/amplifier combinations were you using on the great song: Just Call Me Lonesome - by Radney Foster. It is one of my favorite songs, and you are getting some killer tones. Sounds like you are using several different guitars and amps on that cut.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the amp, but I believe he's playin' his Fender 400 on that song.
It is a great sound!

Hello Mark,
I'm honored by your compliment and question. The guitar on "Just Call Me Lonesome" is a blonde Fender 400 with a wide Jazzmaster pickup, which I prefer over the narrower pickups. The amp is a blackface pre-CBS Fender Twin with a JBL E-130 15" speaker. I'm a big fan of Ralph Mooney's "high lonesome desert" Bakersfield sound and I'm just coping as many of his licks as I can "steal" without owing him any residuals. Radney is a great artist to work with in the studio, and he really encouraged me to play in that Buck Owens/Wynn Stewart direction. Bill Hullett played brilliant lead guitar on his 50's Fender "No-Caster" on that track. Bill is an exceptionally fine musician and a lot of fun to hang with in a recording studio.
Thanks for all your kind words.

Yes, Bill Hullett is a monster player. I especially liked George Marinelli's work on Hammer and Nails. I also enjoyed your lap steel work on that album.
