Hello all,
I have been watching a borrowed dvd showing the story of Loretta Lynn(not the movie) which has a lot of songs with very prominent steel playing which is simply fantastic, camera shots of the steel are very brief so there is little chance of recognising the player.Would it be John Hughey?I know he recorded with Loretta but was he on the road?Someone must know him.
Best regards
Billy

Billy,
Forumite Bob Hempker was the road steel player for Loretta for several years. Most likely that's who you're seeing on the DVD.

Also Hal Rugg played on a number of Loretta's hits, but I don't know if he ever toured with her or not.
