WHOA!! Ernie, that's an "oldie",but I don't know if its a "goodie". That was taken in the early 70's,when I first started w/ T.O.
l. to r.:

Bob "Rip" Rippy: lead guitar.
Lives in Tampa,Fl. Works for a realtor,& still pickin' locally.

Bob McCracken: drums
Now,a producer/engineer of his own studio.
Produced several of Russ Hicks' CD's.
(he's,also, the one that got me the job w/ T.O.,& I'll get even w/ him for that, some day.)

Jack Ellis: bass/front
Last seen in Harlingen,Tx. in the late 80's.

Last,& certainly least...ME: steel guitar.
Last seen in Hendersonville,Tn.,still starvin'!! Too dumb to get out when I should've,too broke to get out now!!

Is It You? He Is Behind An Old Sho-Bud With Looks what looks Like A Clover Inlaid On The Front Apron . I Know Keven Owens Has Jimmy Days Old Bud With The Spade In it And Some One Told Me There Were Three More Of Those Guitars With A Clover ,Diamond,And Heart.. While we are talking about the old days, I pulled out my two Julian Tharpe albums to record for my friend Gary and there was a familier name in the photo credits for Jet Age---Smiley Roberts

The picture was printed in the program for the show you all did here. I know it was in the 70's, but not quite sure when. It was a package show, Overstreet and Susan Raye.

I remember you and the guitar player, (don't remember his name...) I saw him the next day at the drug store where my Mom worked, too. He had on his very pointy patent leather boots there, too.

Glad you all like it...

The band looks like Overstreet kept them eating good. They all are much skinnier now.I guess they played Mexico and stole the outfits from a drunked up Mariachi band.

Hey Boo,
Yup,you got it. Da's me awright. That pic was taken in'68,right after I moved to NashVILE. However, that's not a "clover" on the front of the cabinet,it's a "joker". When I had Shot Jackson build that steel for me,I wanted a "heart" put on the front. Shot told me that he made a deal w/ the other guys that had the heart, club, spade,& diamond on theirs, that he would not duplicate 'em. So,I told him,"Okay,I want a joker put on mine",& that,he did. That was a 1966,D-10,w/ 8 & 2. The cabinet,& necks, were "Purple Heart". The top of the cabinet was b/e maple,w/ diamond inlay on all. The p/u's were dual coil. It was the most beautiful guitar I'd ever seen. I sure would like to know whatever happened to it. Last I heard,it was somewhere in Huntsville,Al.
