Who plays the steel on Ray Price's "Touch My Heart"?
Got XM in the car this week, and have been listening to "Hank's Place".
They have played it several times over the weekend.
Did a search, but haven't found any info.

I just added my comment, because; I like to say his name! (And, he's always been my favorite PSG-Player!)

I don't know where you guys get your information, but it was Buddy Emmons that played steel guitar on that recording.
One minor correction:
Buddy's guitar that became a wagon was a black guitar. However the 45rpm recording of "Touch My Heart," also black, frequently became a coaster.

Watch it... It'll drive ya nuts... Heard Mo Bandy last nite and got another entry
for the "Who's the Steeler?" thread. Then there's "Who's the Steeler" for Earnest Tubb? Billy Walker? Faron Young? Porter Wagoner?....you can see there's no end. At least for Merle we can be pretty sure it's Norm H.
The tab and tracks for the Touch My Heart steel break is available from either Jim Loessberg or Buddy or both (I have both courses just can't remember which one it's on). A library "gotta have" for sure.

Yeah, the black one that became the coaster wagon was the first all pull Emmons. |

TNX for the prompt responses.
Being new to steel, I have a lot of catching up to do.
Sure would be nice to see a thread on your favorite songs that showcase a steeler's best playing.
