Thanks for the link, Jud. Its always good to see news about our steel heros. And if Neil Flanz isn't a steel guitar Hero I dont know who is!! And...such a nice person as well! Way to go Neil...still one of my all time favorite players, and his C6 chord book has helped many of us. |

It's good to see Neil getting the recognition he deserves! He worked frequently with my band in Florida during the 80s and 90s and always did such a great job . .
I always considered him one of the top PSG players on the planet. If anybody deserves to be inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame, it's Neil ! He certainly meets all the criteria. |

I met Neil Flanz when I found him on the teachers list in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. He was the only teacher on the list. Due to finances and time constraints I didn't get to spend nearly as much time with him as I would have liked and desperately needed! I did squeeze a lesson in and he talked about his move to Austin. He was nervous about such a radical change of lifestyle. I'm missing his guidance but thrilled that he's doing what he loves to do and being recognized for it! He hid away down here way too long!
I still laugh every time I sit down to play. My first steel was a GFI student, 3 x 1. Neil told me to get an old Emmons or Bud! My 72 D 10 Emmons never sounded so good to me as the day Neil sat down at it.

I'm glad that the move to Texas is successful and relatively painless. Neil, I look forward to seeing you again in Dallas.

I've gotten to know that whole crew over the past few years and it's what keeps bringing me back to Austin.
You guys are all deserving.
