Ï have just returned from a trip Tamworth New South Wales to attend the anual C.M.Festival.
For those of you who don't know it's about 3500 KMS south east from Darwin where I live or 4 days drive.
I went the long way round and stayed a few days with Warren Nielsen.Warren had a few jobs booked in Tamworth and followed me down.
Catherine Britt was home from the States for a few weeks and put on a cracker of a show. Michel rose played steel 'Nuff said.
Went to see the Feral Swing Kats which were awsome.I don't mean to offend anyone but Michel and this band has to be right up there with the best. They played Canadian sunset and Michel just blew everyone away. Brilliant.
There were literally hundreds of shows to see , some good some bad but all having a go and a wonderfull happy time was had by all I'm sure.
The 4 dat trip home was all that pleasant as it was well over 100 degrees al;l the way home.Big wide open country, but I love it.(Have to it's the only one I've got)

I went last year with Terri Clark, but we're in the states right now... missed it.

Please come see us in April, as we'll be touring Australia

Greetings,
I also was in Tamworth (not so far to travel from Brisbane) and saw the FSK at the Family Hotel. I must confess I preferred teh opriginal configuration but as long as Stuie and Michel are on stage it's worth being there.
It seems strange that there is no PSG related events at Tamworth but I guess it reflects the fact that the real pros are booked out that week and the rest of us are too lazy to even get together. (even the bluegrass mob have been quiet for a few years now)
I at least have the advantage of being in Brisbane where we get the Steel Guitar Festival on 19&20 Feb so I'll just have to wait til then for my next fix,

Michel and the Cats blew everybody away at Scotty's a few years ago. Now, Geoff, what I really want to know is whether the love of my life, FELICITY was singing at this show. How's her career going in Australia and beyond? Is she nationally/internationally-known yet? She certainly deserves to be.

Well Jim,if Felicity is the love of your life, you had better join the que. She a real sweetie in every respect. I don't know about internationally, but certainly in Australia she is well known and loved.
She was not with the swing Katz this year but had her own show which was packed to the rafters. Her rapport with the audience was amazing, so much charisma and not to mention tallent.Michel loves backing her also so I got double value for money. I hope she goes on to bigger and better things, I'm sure she will.
It's funny you know, when the singer in the band whoever it may be introduces Michel to the audience there is an amazing ovation which seems to me that finally in Australia the steel guitar is gaining profile and that is mainly , but not entirely due to Michel.
Yes Brett, I was at the Family Hotel also. Do you remember when Stuie brought his young brother on stage to sing a song?. I looked around and there were big rough men in the audience with tears running down their face. You see, Stuie's brother has down syndrome and apparently was pestering Stuie to sing a song. I'm so glad his request was granted, a wonderfull gesture .Well that's enough of my raving, thanks all for your interest in Felicity and the wonderfull Feral Swing Katz.
