I too, am over 6 ft 2 and have had the same problem. My legs are long for my body and have
had to resort to making my own rods for years. It is pretty easy, as Rob Parker stated. My
bigger concern is pedals and having to wind up like a pretzel to operate them. My Mullen pedals are somewhat longer than the Carter but both leave something to be desired. I have extended my Excel pedals years ago, tho. I need the legs and pedal rack to be extended forward from the cabinet, sort of a hinge arrangement. This would solve most of the 'long leg' problems.
As far as fitting under a ' normal' guitar, if I can manage to reach the lever to lower the E,s then I am okay. I played a C6 tuned Fender for years.
