Any one who doesn't know me would think that I must have just landed on this planet. How could I have missed this forum for such a long time? I have been fooling around the steel guitar world since the late sixties. Playing, building, and sometimes just owning a guitar or two. At any rate, I'm very excited to have found the forum and be in the company of players from all over the world. This is just way cool.

Dean, sounds like you ain't so new, at least to steel guitar. Don't forget to do Forum searches over the previous years. There is just tons of stuff from top people on many topics. I played steel a couple of years in Tennessee back in the '70s, then quit music and went back to school. When I emerged from a d-i-v-o-r-c-e a couple of years ago, I started playing steel again. Lucky for me I immediately went on the internet and discovered this amazing Forum. It has helped me loads getting back up to date on equipment. Unfortunately, you still have to get off-line and practice, practice, practice. I now wish I hadn't quit for so many years.

Dave, just like you I got divorced. Four times to be exact. It seemed like every time I opened my case to do a gig I got divorced. My old steel teacher, Denny used to call my guitar my ultimate divorce kit. He was more right than could have ever imagined. I always kept my stuff but it did quit gigin'. I had all I could stand, but I really never lost interest in the insturment. I love that damn thing. Some of the time it has been the only between me and the lunnie bin. Just kidding, Dude.
Thanks for the welcome.

Amen, brother. I've always said that music is the only thing that keeps my sanity intact in this crazy world. Welcome to the bestest pal a steel player ever had.

Dean, I found out about this forum 2 years ago and I have never been the same. There is a Christian Forum as well if you are not aware of it. Welcome aboard.
