I was afraid that URL might look like that. Oh well, at least it works. |

I find it interesting that the first reply was from Auntie Maria (Mele.com) ...'
As it should be.

Anyone else think it might be time for another forum upgrade? With better boards like phpbb2 and vbulletin that are out now, ubb is kinda ancient as far as boards go.

What a silly, frivolous pipedream, b0b. Nobody's gonna want to go fire up the computer in their computer laboratory and, what, talk about steel guitar!!! Yeah right.
Next you are going to tell us you have some device that, when you put a loaf of bread in it, it comes out sliced. And then what? A box with slots in it that, when you put those slices in and pull a lever they come out toasted.
Quit your dreaming and get a real job. |

Don't foget, the forum has created a new market for steel guitar related music and products. It's quite possible that some of the new CDs we have been seeing come out for the last few years are a direct result of the enthusiasm of forum readers and members.

I would like to testify as a Child Of The Steel Guitar Forum.
The very same week I finally broke down and bought an old Maverick from the classified ads, I ran across the self same notice you read above.
As a steel guitar virgin, I was immediately dropped into a community of people who answered my clueless questions and provided inspiration during bleak periods, as well as planting the seeds for some lifelong friendships.
So, b0b, I'm glad to see that too. Thanks to you, and everyone.

I should add -
The only down side is being reminded that it's 8 whole years later, and I still suck.

thanks, bOb. This really is an incredible feat you've accomplished. I've been a member for six or seven years, and, until then, it would have seem presumptuous to be in the same thread as Buddy Emmons (or the likes), but it happened back then, and I still pinch myself. |

. . . so we won't have to keep
replying to the same
