Roger,
We have never played together before so it might be a real mess. Hopefully a fun mess ! The tuba player and drummer are great. I really wish they hired a trumpet to help out with the heads and solos though.

Bob, Looks like you are going to have a blast or a really long night but I'm betting on fun. I love a challenge like that once in a while. It really sharpens you up and makes you think and draw on everything you know.

Guess I'll be watching the big ball drop on TV. This is the first time in several years that I don't have a NY eve gig. I am available though if anyone is looking for a steeler in the Louisville area.

I will be playing with Gunsmoke (w/Jeff DeMaio on pedal steel) at Pure Country, 6 Delay Street, Danbury Conn. If you want to hear some nice straight-ahead country, twin steel and guitar, and some western swing mixed in then please stop by. We will have some copies of our new live CD "Road To Nashville" with us too, so stop in and say "HI".

Somewhere just outdide of Bloomington, with the Lloyd Wood gang for the 28th year - I think I'll keep this gig! Three fiddles, 3 electric mandolins, Fender non-pedal, upright bass, and all the "normal" instruments. PLENTY of Western Swing - yes, even in Indiana. Fred Shannon, we've never met, (my loss I'm sure), but A BIG handshake form me to you on that first gig you guys are doing! All of you folks - BE CAREFUL - driving that night... Jimmie

Our original gig at Moose Lodge #1029 in Hopkinsville, KY got canceled Monday (With Just 4 Days Notice) . The Lodge representative said they weren't going to have the money to pay us, so guess what! Luckily I was able to get the owners of Flea Country to have a New Years Eve Party here at the last minute and let us be the entertainment. Not quite as much money as the gig we lost, but with that short of notice, I ain't complaining.

Looks like we may have a decent turnout afterall. This party got thrown together late Monday after the Moose lodge called & canceled our scheduld NYE gig. We've put up flyers all over town. Since yesterday we've had nearly 75 phone-calls from our regular crowd wanting to know if we were gonna play tonight. Wish us luck! Nick
