Hello Gentleman,

I'm as new as they come to Pedal Steel Guitar and have a question for anyone who can help me. I have a Goodrich Volume Pedal Model CD2A and have no idea what this Pedal is all about, or not about. I can't seem to find much info... on the computer about it. I have no idea if it's good or bad, or what the difference is in this pedal compared to anything on the market, or if anyone out there is using this pedal. Pros and cons if anyone can help???????????? In the mean time I'll keep on searching for info... Thanks a bunch, Bobby.

Guys, this is Bobby again and I've found info that has answered some questions. This may be an ignorant question, but the green light that is visible through the top of the pedal, uhhh is this just to inform you that you have power? Please be gentle with your responses, I promise I'm a beginner. Thanks, Bobby.

I don't think that green light is there for "show", I believe it is the light that makes the thing work.

I think you probably have a Goodrich Photocell volume pedal. The info I have is that the photocell volume pedals used a #757 lamp (rated at 50000 hrs.) I believe a lot of players still use the photocell volume pedal. If it works, it'll serve you good.

One issue I have heard about these light pedals is that if you have a bright light down near the pedal base it shines up inside and has been known to cause interferance of some type.

But a lot of people like these pedals. It is a good pedal by most reports.

I have a Hilton which uses light from a non visual bandwidth, so it doesn't have this occasional issue.

Thanks Gentleman for your help. So far it's been a great Volume Pedal, but being new to the whole Steel Guitar setup and stringed instruments, I wouldn't know if it was any good or just ok, or even great! Thanks again. Bobby.
