Was looking at getting a new steel. Does anyone know much about the Rains Steel Guitar. Had some friends mention it was a good machine, but thought I'd ask the experts.

Thanks

I've played Gary Carpenter's Rains Steel a lot! It is a super sounding and playing steel that I would recommend to anyone. The undercarriage is easy to make changes. Bottomline...it is a super steel at a fair price...

My new Rains will be ready Thursday or Friday of this week. I'm looking forward to playing it on a gig Saturday night.

I've owned and played a lot of different brands of steel guitars over the years, and the workmanship, playability, and sound of the Rains guitar is second to none.

Bob Rains is a great guy to do business with, and he's a heck of a steel player as well. I would highly recommend giving him a call. You might have to leave a message. He's usually in his shop building guitars. But, he will call you back.

I guess you all knew I'd jump on this one, since i'm the biggest blabber mouth ever was about the Rains Steel Guitars.
I've owned one now for two months now and I have nothing but good to say about these guitars. The under side looks like a mirror all polished up,the rain drop fret board is realy cool too, tone to the bone man and sustain unending.Oh,and did I mention the out standing service, wow. All in all this guitar has it all and i'm very proud to play mine and sponsor them where ever I go to play.
The price for these guitars for what your getting is no doubt in the buyer's favor.
If you have'nt checked one out,do so for yourself, you'll be real glad you did.

Well, here's the second biggest blabbermouth of the Rains axe. I first saw this guitar at Bob's coming out party in Abilene Texas some time back. Larry Tolliver tore up the ethric with his picking. After looking at the underbelly of this one I knew right then this horn was "gonna' make it", and it has. Bobby Tuttle and Larry swapped eights for about an hour and I could see the look on Bobby's face. "I'm gonna' have one of these". Now i see he has. An excellent instrument manufactured by a super gent, and I think you're gonna' hear more about this guitar in the future, eh Ricky D? Who's the guy in the big hat anyway?

Morning Fred, Steve Lamb watching Gary Carpenter ( Rains Distributor) at Lamb's Music store. I was at Gary's house last week and he had a beautiful black D10 and said he would be receiving several more in shortly.

Hey Ken, my friend, glad to hear from you. Email me about the family, and I know if you saw this guitar in action you can only agree with me about it's integrity. Heck of an instrument.

Earl, to the best of my knowledge, the only thing offered by Rains right now is a D-10 and an SD-10. I will probably be talking to Bob Rains this afternoon and I'll ask him if he has any plans to add a 12 string line.

I had a chance to hear Fred and his new Rains last weekend at the Arizona jam. Fred sounded awfully good on that guitar, but then again, Fred is a fine player who would sound awfully good on any brand.

Hello from Larry Toliver in Merkel, Texas. I have had my Rains D-10 with 9 floor pedals and 8 knees for about 6 months now. I have played Sho-buds, Emmons, Bethels, a Franklin, Zum, and the sound on the Rains is 2nd to none. I have known Bobby Rains for over 20 years, and he is building a quality instrument. Fred Justice is right on, they are affordable, and extremely well made. Give Bobby a call and try them out.

Single on a double with standard 3/4 walnut finish

Maybe this weekend if I'm lucky - also contacted Keith to get one of his pedals - wanted to do things right with this one.
