Not asking a question for once; I just want to express my thanks to all the past and present pedal steel guitar builders who have given us something that has enriched our lives. I'm lucky if I can change a rod on an all-pull, so I do appreciate your genius and the fact you do it for love and not for the money. Xie xie ni. (That's thanks in Chinese.) Ricky, thanks for putting up my Christmas photo at Tiananmen Square. In the background if you squint, you can see Chairman Mao's photo on the wall of the Forbidden City, the place emperors lived & threw their big parties. steve

Also to Buddy Emmons, who designed what is regarded by many as the ultimate steel guitar, especially in terms of tone, and also for his input on many brands of pedal steel guitar. Among those, my personal favorite: Sho~Bud

Haha, I like the pic of the discussion of pedal steel mechanics (background) over a beer (foreground)! Finer things could not be discussed over a good drink.

I'd like to thank Mr. Barney Miller for the absolutely fine work he's done on my Sho-Bud. It would not be a joy to play without all he's done on it.

What a great idea. I am truly in debt to those builders/mechanics who have enabled me to concentrate on playing music rather than the instrument: Greg Lasser who made my first ZB guitar playable, Jimmy Crawford who made my second Emmons playable, and Paul Franklin, who has made me 5 fantastic pedal instruments.

Our Canadian genius Ed Fulawka in Ontario is a real virtuoso luthier who makes the stratovarious of pedal steels...the Fulawka...a great guy and a master machinist who still makes all his parts without needing a computer to cut a straight line, he does it the old fashioned way..with skill. Thanks to Ed and his crew for creating the ultimate guitar!

Here's another Salute’ to Shot Jackson's Memory, and to Buddy Emmons who built my first PSG. {One of the first (5) in 1957} (and about 12 more) and to Paul Franklin Sr., who built (3) fine PSG's for me since 1980. “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”!
