Topic: What time of the day do we sound the best? |

| Speaking for myself, my own playing sounds the best to me early in the morning,guitar, steel, whatever im playing. I always wondered if the guys that play master sessions, have any say, or preference, as to when they do there thing in the studio? bob |

Bob, for me as well..Early morning is my best time of day..I'm trying to get the band to book the gigs from 7AM to 10AM..that would be best for me..and of course I would wait until 9:30 for the first Beer..

yes for me the morning is better
seems like im rested and eager to play
my steel and guitar i guess its because
my ears are fresh and my mind is clear
that goes for studio work as well
sometimes after a good nap the night gigs go a lot better as well

| I also like early morning. When I was a kid still living at home,I liked to get up and go straight to the bassment and flip on the amp and play my Fender 400. It's nice to play before your mind gets cluttered up with all of the days activities. |

Late at night, in the wee hours after I've been playing for a couple of hours. Then I get in the zone . .

| I try and tape myself frequently, because I've found some disconnection between my perceptions of my playing and reality. I definitely play better later in the day if I get some time in early in the morning - priming the pump, I guess - but my most accurate and creative time seems to be late afternoon to early evening. I suspect (or delusionally hope?) that the hassles of the day can be used as a spur to better playing. Kill your TV and play instead, see what happens. |

I sound unbeliavable to all the folks in the bar at the time of the happy hour, and maybe even better, 3-4 hours into the happy hour...

hey Bob,I`m sure there is many other players here who can answer your question.I would guess whenever are scheduled for a session.My session is from 7am til 7pm everyday on my truck.That is also the place where I`m rubbing my elbowes...and my lower back...and my knees...Merry Christmas to you too buddy...

Early morning? Hmm. I'm trying to grasp the concept.
I'm sure I sound best at late afternoon and evening. On the few sessions I've had in the morning, I felt totally unmusical.
I sound great in the early morning hours....when I'm asleep, in my dreams.

| Early mornings for me is the best also. I'm use to getting up early and playing. I especially like a good run of practice then take a day off.
