A few minutes ago I demonstrated the steel guitar to my daughter's new friend. He is a 17 year old foreign exchange student from Germany and had never seen or heard this instrument before. I didn't want to sound too countryfied so I played Blue Spanish Eyes for him. On his way out I overheard him say "your Dad is way good and that music sounds like vacation music"!

Best compliment I've had yet!

Hi Terry:

Good to see you are still using that . . . Fessy was it?

I finally gave up the Sierra in favor of a single 10, 6 + 4 Excel customized to my 3 tunings via lock in lever and special knee lever.

Hello Roy,

Yep. Still playing that Fessy. And I'm still trying to learn "standard" tunes on a "standard" E9 setup. I'm not as advanced as some of you guys that have experimental levers hooked up to knees, elbows, and body parts I won't even mention here!

Good to hear from you, Roy.

HAHA...that's great! I have a friend of mine who is living in Chicago for a short period of time. He is from South Korea and speaks "ok" English. He comes up with the craziest combination of English words to describe my pedal steel when he tells other Koreans about it. It makes me laugh everytime. He's never called it "vacation music" before.
