Hi All,
I got a copy of a J.J.Cale Cd on which he sings a number called "Hey Baby" The steel playing is excellent and has us wondering who it is.
One band member says Green another says Emmons.
Best regards
Billy

Both, Lloyd plays on "Super Blue" and Buddy plays on "Hold On" and "Hey Baby". Incidently, these songs are on J.J. Cale's Troubadour album.

Keep on pickin'!

Jerry, You're absolutely correct. It is Lloyd on "Hey Baby".

Another album with both Lloyd and the Big E is Steve Young's 1978 release No Place To Fall. Lloyd plays on the title song and "I Closed My Heart's Door". Buddy plays on all the rest. The great Mac Gayden plays lead and slide guitar all through the album. It's good'un!

FYI, No Place To Fall and Steve's Renegade Picker are available on CD as a double CD package. It's a good buy for great country music and great steel pickin'.

Keep on pickin'!

Don't to brag, or sound like a "name dropper", but I grew up with J.J.(Johnny) Cale in Tulsa, Okla. He even gave me a mention in an interview in Guitar Player magazine--they asked him what got him interested in guitar, and he said "the kid up the street had one"--- I wAS THE "Kid up the street"--my claim to fame!
