I really miss the steel guitar guru and expertise of Carl Dixon. He has probably forgotten more about the workings of PSG than most of us will ever know. I learned an awful lot from his posts.

His religion is his own as is mine, and his references to what he believes is certainly condoned in this household. For someone to privately crush this man's beliefs via the email route is unconcionable (sic) to me. I really don't understand individuals who raise their egotistical standing at the expense of downgrading someone else.

Too bad. The Forum needs good people like Carl. And Carl if you're reading, please come back and share your expertise and knowledge with us.

There was and still is some real resentment by some name players down in Nashville over Carl's advice and opinions. Some Nashville players think we have no right here to some of our opinions and that we are out of line on some of the discussions. This is a free discussion forum and I always found Carl's thoughts and opinions valuable. I try to learn from the people who I disagree with, as well as from the people that I agree with. Carl as far as I'm concerned I agreed with you more times than not. I hope that you are doing well, and I thank you for all of your advice. As far as I'm concerned you are ALWAYS welcomed here.

Having gotten some hate email myself over some things I've said and music I've posted here on the forum, I have a small idea how Carl feels. There's something about the internet that amplifies hate and all the negative emotions that it creates. I'm way to the left of Carl concerning many things. My tastes in music and my sense of reverence don't line up with his too closely, but I miss him here on the forum alot and wish he would come back. Happy Thanksgiving Carl and all!

I have always enjoyed Carl's input and expertise on the Forum. We should agree to disagree, but not attack someone for their opinions or ideas.

Hello All;
Roger, I could NOT agree with you more!!
You said exactly how I feel also..We need to step back from the keyboard before we post sometimes & remeber that we are ALL different with different ideas too.Just because someone has an opinion you do not agree with is no reason for hate mail & such. That is wrong & we all know that too.
I know of a few people that have been driven away from this Forum over the last few years. We are all a band of brothers & sisters here who ALL love the steel guitar!!
That is the bottom line & we should not forget that..I miss Carl also & sure do wish he would come back but I do understand his decision & that is his right..Ron

Hey Carl:
Come on back man. There are not too many of us old guys left and who's gonna fill your shoes ?
So many of us depend on you folks with the knowledge to help us understand this thing were trying to play.
I know I have receive e-mail accusing me of working for Brad Sarno and Keith Hilton.
Actually I do work on their behalf but don't get paid fot it. I love their products and will crow about Them every chance I get.
I also crow about Mike Cass and Duane Marrs and a lot of other folks. What good is life if you can't find something to crow about.
So take a breather and get rested up and then come on back to all of us who know you for the good person you are.

Old Bud

Carl's posts are indeed helpful and insightful. While I may not share his religious beliefs or agree with all of his opinions, I do believe he should be able to express them. They are his honest beliefs and opinions.

"I do believe he should be able to express them. They are his honest beliefs and opinions."
Carl never shied away from expressing his opinions, be they popular or not. But people should ALSO be allowed to disagree, and express their disagreement, with anyone's opinions. Carl is a very knowledgable man, who has NOT been "run off" the Forum. He's CHOSEN not to post here. I think we should respect his desire---indeed, his CALLING----to do other things.
Carl, if you read this, know that I, and a lot of other people on this Forum, wish you well, and pray God's blessings for you.

I dunno, Jelle(&Koos), I heard Buddy play one note in there that Carl wouldn't like at all!

Seriously, I miss Carl, too. He's always welcome around here, as far as I'm concerned.

I miss Mr Dixon.

I read every word of every thread he was involved in.

I suggest that he pray for the stength to stand with his faith in the face of those that express theirs or their lack of it differently, and still help those of us in need of his experience.

Rarely have I had such an attachment to people I've never physically met.

I hope you come back Carl.

Many here are smaller, and like myself would appreciate again the exchange of thoughts with you, and the flow of information FROM you.

Your Friend, even if you don't read this.

Hey Carl, I too miss seeing your posts on the Forum and hope you'll see fit to come back with us sometime. I hope you can see that you have many more supporters on this Forum than you may realize. I too am a Christian and like you a Rush-a-holic and I'm staying around here to try to keep a little balance every now and then. Later...JH

Stephen.

I ain't calling nobody a liar.

Every now and then I receive an e-mail from Carl. And in these conversations the Forum pops up.
He said it several times to me,that he will not come on the forum again.

Maybe that my English is not that good after all.Could be I interpret it the wrong way.
I do not want to call people a liar nor do i want to offend them in any way.

Carl's love of Jesus Christ is greater than his love of the steel guitar and that is why you will not see him doing any more posting on this forum.
