OK, so the subject is hokey, but . . .
Given the apparent age range of us forumites--civility forbids so crass a thing as suggesting the low and high --how many of you wear hearing aids, and how do you deal with them when playing, practicing, etc.?
I'm new to the game, having had mine fitted last July--still getting used to it.

Hi James, I have been wearing hearing aid for a long time due to severe high frequency loss.(Playing too loud too long). My aids are loaded with lots of high frequecy circuits, and I had a tendency to set my amp with too much bass. Not wearing the aids, I set the amp with too many highs. I have my band mates to help me set the tone of my amp. Works great. I practice without the aids. The ones I wear are very sophisticated ($4000.00) and are programable. As I understand one of our forumites was able to get the hearing tech. to come out where he played with some computer equip. and program his aids to his likeing. My tech. says he will try to come out, but always has an excuse. After the amount of money I paid, that is the least he could do. But that is life. Beat regards, Jody. |

A couple of our guys sometimes wear the little round foam ear plugs which is fine except they like to put one between my pickup and strings on break. It really pushes me to think of new things to do to them. |

I know if you stand close to a mic with your hearing aid turned up too high, it will feed back, and it takes forever to figure out where it's coming from. |
