Hi, my name is Rich and I've been playing the pedal steel for four months, and I'm really enjoying it. Been a banjo player for 20 years and I love the banjo but I'm sure enjoying this pedal steel guitar.
Question number one: I bought a used Sho-Bud "The Professional", model 6153 double neck, serial #4655. I'm wondering if someone can help me determine when it was built. Is Sho-Bud still in business? Is there anybody who sells parts, preferably in the Twin Cities (MN) area?
thanks --

Duane Marrs is the place you'll find parts.
He's rebuilding and retrofitting my Professional, which is another of his famed pursuits.
I'd say 68-71 or so. I dunno for sure. Ricky Davis, another Forumite and guitar rebuilder i his own right will surely give you a more specific answer. There are a couple things you can do to perk up those old Pros, he may be able to advise you on.
At any rate, Welcome.
Sho~Bud is indeed spoken here.

I have a Professional D10 built in 1973, Feb. By Harold Perry who lives close to Valdosta Ga. He worked at Sho-bud.
