It has 6 strings and they are all there, all original-wood grain and has glass playing tube.

Oh, well it's worth $20,000 then.... this guys description reminds me of that Ebay auction parody website posted in the Humor section.

...and Jim, it's a bargain. Just imagine how much time and money would be saved in not having to buy any of those expensive tuners and having to learn those special tuning procedures!

I guess that means the Esquire is worth $19500.

Thanks, that's a hoot! He can't spell "scratch" but spells "faux" correctly. Both guitars refinished, too.

I guess that would be a "metal playing tube".

I emailed the seller asking if it was a joke. She said it was on consig. and this is what they wanted. I offered several hundred for the lap.

It's self evident that he doesn't want to sell; but to just show them off to a large viewing audience.

Could be, or maybe they're trying the "price it so high only an idiot would buy it, then sit back and wait for an idiot" method.

Someone posted "question for seller" and wants to buy. Am I missing something here?

Yep, the Esquire has been refinished. All Esquires made in the 1950's were blonde. Refinishing a vintage guitar cuts the value in half. This seller is way off base.

I suppose that, on a good day, it might be worth 2 or 3 grand.

There were some interesting comments posted in the auction. I guess the seller had a need to defend him/herself. Anyway, there were no takers which was to no surprise.
