Hello, Buddy, I played onstage for the first time with a band today in Hollonville, Georgia. I took my Emmons steel guitar and played two songs. I was playing while a bass player/lead singer was singing on the second song and the first song was an instrumental. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

Well I had the honor of introducing my buddy Brett at the show yesterday. Now this was not just a bunch of steelers in the crowd, we actually had civilians there and a bunch of them too.

I told Brett before he went on that I was going to do everything I could to make him nervous. Boy did he surprise me. Nothing shakes that boy.

What an inspiration to all of us. They were many a "wet" eye in the house.

I am PROUD to call Brett and his family my friends.

Oh yeah Brett, next time I'll loan you my new Carter. hehe

Brett, you know I love ya, sweetie. Tommy, too of course! It was a pleasure having your family with us, and meeting your younger brother for the first time! We're anxious to meet your twin sometime when he can come along too.

You were wonderful on stage, Brett! You moved and inspired a lot of people. Pictures available SOON!!!

Brett,

You did a great job in Georgia Sunday, I really enjoyed it. I wanted to congratulate you in person, but whenever I had a chance, I couldn't get through your fans. I was really impressed with how unnervous (new word) you were. You handled it like a seasoned pro.

I have always enjoyed talking with you at the Saluda show, hope to see, and hear you there in August. Once again, GREAT JOB!!!!

Hi, Brett,

I play steel guitar for Mel Tillis and we are gonna be in Charleston, SC on the 19th of this month (Saturday I think). Is Charleston anywhere close to you? I'd like to meet you. You sure are an inspiration to us all. Write me back and let me know if you're gonna be there. I think we are playing at an Air Force Base. It's real good country music and I get to play a whole lot! (I'm not too sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!) Anyway, I think you would enjoy it.

Take Care,

Tim

Brett,
I just wanted to thank you for letting me share the stage with you last Sunday. I was very impressed with your self confidence back stage and once we were on stage as well. I know a lot of steel players that would have been more nervous than you appeared to be and I thought you handled yourself very professionaly. I was very proud of you and proud to be your sidekick for the day.
Keep pickin'
Tommy D.

Hi Brett,

We have never met, but I feel as if I know you from all of the nice things other steelers have told me about you. You must have a great personality. My main slogan is "Keep on keeping on" and I say that to you. I can still remember my first real gig in front of a live audiance in a little country school auditorium in Alabama -- way back in about 1944. I was nervous until the curtain opened, then all the butterflies in my stomach went away. It's an experience we all should keep in our minds as we grow older.

I would be honored to have you check out my new Web Site and sign my guest book there. The link is Roy's Web Site

By the way, what was the instrumental you played at that gig?
