2004 Steel Guitar Hall of Fame Inductee Bobby Black plays with Don Burnham and Lost Weekend (check out how many players in this band!), among other gigs.
Don Burnham went all the way to St. Louis to be with Bobby to celebrate, bringing wonderful posters he printed to honor Bobby Black. You can see part of the poster here.
Bobby Black's Upcoming Tour Dates with Lost Weekend
Congratulations also to Bobby Koefer and Jody Carver for being inducted alongside Bobby Black into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame!

What a lovely photo of Bobby and his dad! Bobby's one of my all time favourites and really deserving of the honour ... not to mention Bobby Koefer and Jody Carver.

Bobby is also one of my favourite steel players. He showed the way for many young players including myself! Congratulations Bobby! Well deserved! Bob |

Congrat's to Bobby. Glad to see Larry made it to the party. Bobby's the reason I even know about Steel Guitar!
If you're in California or want to see some great Western Swing go catch "Lost Weekend" The band is comprised mostly of San Francisco's premier Jazz cats. Jim Rothermel on reeds (and Kazoo!) is stellar, Bob Schultz, on Coronet was in Turk Murphy's big band, Shota Osabe, Piano, Bing Nathan, Bass, Bobby Black, Steel, usually a Stringmaster D8 (that he bought from me,sorry Ann) Mark Holzinger on Standard guitar keeps getting better every time I see them. Sometimes Kurt Lindgren on Trombone. The drummer often is different but usually the best to be had. And Melissa Collard as the "girl singer" will melt every guy in the crowd.
Next to the TimeWarp~TopHands this is my fav W.S. band. Get the CD and see for yourself. They do it true to the form. No BS, No Country or Rockabilly trying to pass, just real WS.
Makes me want to leave the NM mountians for the Bay Area, but only for a minute !!! |

I finally got down the stack and
Lost Weekend Western Swing is in the car.
A really fun CD, and some great slide work from Mr. BB. |

I'd like to add my sincerest good wishes on Bobby's induction into the SGHOF. Bobby's an extremely talented and tasteful musician, and a true gentleman, as well. Congratulations, Bobby. You deserve it. |
