Many thanks to Scotty, Mike and Family for inviting me to play this years convention.
I would also like to thank Roy Rosetta, Steve Piticco, Ric Boyer, Jay Rhiel and Gary Peters for sharing my set.
And last but not least, many thanks to my wife Debra and my family for flying my dad and brother to St Louis. It was a great surprise! I had no idea they were coming.
It was great to see all the Canadians who showed up to hear our set! Merci beaucoup mes amis! Bob

Hi Bob, sorry I wasn't in St. Louis this year, I would have loved to hear you play live. I have one of your CD's, but as always, seeing someone live is much better. I have not worked in 3 years, and so no money available for trips to St. Louis and such, but next year looks better, as I now am working.
Best to you and your family and Debbie.

Hey, Bob. Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed our conversation, and thanks for noticing Bud Charleton standing behind us! Him and Don Helms were the only people from whom I wanted to get autographs. Those autographs are part of the materials I will use to generate enormous envy among my steel playing friends...

Hi Bob,
Missing your set is one of my biggest regrets of not making it to St. Louis this year. Fortunately, I was playing on the road, but it would have been so good to hear you.
You are a wonderful musician, and a steel player that takes it in his own direction. I'm a big fan. Best wishes, and please give Debra my best.
Sincerely,
David Spires |
