I recorded the show today, and it was not Lloyd Green. Not sure who it was, but would like to know as well. Could it have been Joe Goldmark, or Tony Farr? Anybody know?

Johnny and I watched that night. He said it was Billy Poe. He said he still has that guitar also. Walter Haynes was playing lead guitar.

Thanks Joan and Johnny. This was the first time that they really had a clean shot of the steel player. Usually they only show the hands of the player. Thanks again for the information.
Sorry I won't be in St. Louis this year, but maybe we see each other in Dallas.

| Saturday night I saw the Country Carnival for the first time. It was Walter Haynes on lead guitar but I did not recognize the steel player. He did play clean and smooth but had the most unusual bar movement I have ever seen from a steel player. He was playing a ShoBud but I could not tell what kind of amp he was using. Of all the shows RFD has brought back I have enjoyed the Wilburn Brothers the most. Loretta Lynn is a regular and some big name artists are on the show weekly but they have Hal Rugg on steel, and as great a steel player as he is today he was awesome back in those days as well. The band also plays an instrumental every week and he usually plays the C6th tuning on those tunes. Come on RFD, bring more of those old shows back. |

| Jerry, I have Dish Network and the channel is 9409. It is on Direct TV as well even though I do not remember the channel number. My parents have cable in town but no RFD on their programming. |

| Joan.Johnny was correct that was Billy Poe,Great steel guitarist. I was the Bass player on most of those Shows.They were taped in 1968 and 1969. Max. |

| I met Billy Poe in the early 1990's when he moved back to Nashville from Florida. He's not only a great steel player but he's also a great guy. I would love to see these clips of him playing with Billy Walker. Does anybody know if they will be airing again? |

I belive they show diffrent shows of Billy Walker.They also show the same one several times in a week so every one has a chance to see the show they want.Seems I seen that some where.

Billie Walker show is on tonight at 7:30 or 8:30 I belive is what is said on RFD.
