I will be going to the Irish PSGA in October and the guest players include Jim Cohen from Philledelphia and Pete Grant from California.
I am just curious since I do not know these players, can anyone tell me their style or give me any info on them.
Best regards
Billy

Billy I only know Jim Cohen and can tell you he's very versatile and smooth. I have his Four to the Bar CD and just about wore it out the first week. Jim goes from western swing to traditional country to pop and standards with a little Beach Boys thrown in. Jim plays with feeling and I don't notice any of what I call "mechanical" playing. Jim Cohen is a real steel player.

Jim Cohen lives mostly on the C6 neck, and his specialties are Western swing and modern jazz. But he can and does play anything, from pure country to sambas. You're in for a real treat.

I heard said somewhere that Jim's tone was "very acceptable" also.

You probably don't know Jim because everyones calls him Jimbeaux around here.

His web site says he's a good guy.

I understand he studied with Scotty long ago, right up until Scotty kicked him out.

That Irish Fest is going to be great. Al Brisco will also be there. Sorry to say I won't be.

I do not know Pete but I know Jim . I can assure you that, regardless of who is scheduled to play , you will leave the show regarding Jim Cohen among the elite.
