Alan Jackson's new single "Too Much of a Good Thing" is climbing the charts, and showing that Real Country can still sell.

Lloyd offered these comments on his recording of this song. Posted with his permission.

" Joey,

While it is true that lots of overdubs can go into the  composition of a song in today's recording - and I did indeed go back to the studio to record the final solo on "Remember When" - the current Alan Jackson record, "Too Much of a Good Thing", is exactly as I remember it being cut. I sure didn't overdub anything. In fact, the reason I never mentioned that I had recorded the song with Alan Jackson was that he felt it was too country for radio play when we cut it last Summer.

What a difference a year makes. This week it stands at # 8 in Billboard and # 10 in R & R, the two Bibles of the music industry.

Regards,

Lloyd Green

Thanks for the insight, Lloyd.

My confession: I rarely listen to country radio, unless I get in my wife's car without remembering to grab some of the "good stuff" from the CD bin in my car. I heard part of this song as I was pulling into the garage. I talked over most of it--telling my daughter it was "Alan's new one"-- and shut the car off never giving it a second thought. I didn't even wait for the break. I just figured I'd pick up the CD in a day or two... only to later discover it's not released yet. It's coming September 7th!!
