I have just been reading a report form 1983 about a concert that Buddy Emmons and Jeff Newman gave in Armonk.
It says that Buddy played a pretty number called 'The bigger they come, the harder they fall' Does anyome know anything about this number as I dont seem to be able to find anything on it myself. |

Kristofferson had one called, I think, "The Bigger the Fool, the Harder the Fall".
Otherwise, and I think more likely the one you're looking for, one by Larry Gatlin, "Bitter They Are, Harder They Fall".
Then again, maybe it was something completely different...

He also did an outstanding song on the "One For The Road" LP titled "Bitter They Are"
I get goosebumps when I hear it....

Nick's right, Buddy does play Larry Gatlin's great waltz, "Bitter They Are, the Harder they Fall. Gatlin had some great tunes which really lend themselves to steel. I like to play one called "Love is Just a Game". It's got some of those Roy Orbison type I to IVm changes which are beautiful. Have a good 'un. JH
