Ron, I think "looking under the hood" is a more than reasonable request. That Harmony is a beaut! If you get it, would you consider selling me the chocolate colored Nick Maniloff bar? I want one for sentimental reasons. I have an ivory colored one now. The ivory is what I started out with more than 45 years ago. |

The plastic Maniloff bars are very cool. I have an orange, pink, brown and ivory. Were there any other colors that Maniloff made?
I like the multicolor thumbpick.
All this stuff brings back a lot of great memories. |

Not a bad idea. I bought an old Oahu off ebay and it also had a cover over the pickup. The seller said he was pretty sure it was original pickup. When I got it, it had a P-bass pickup in it with the wires twisted on, and the unattached pickup bouncing around inside the guitar. I've got that guitar. Cool looking. But don't expect much from it. It is a student model. If it is actually wood under the MOTS it is nearly balsa. Very very lightweight. Just not much of an axe. |

Thanks, Jon. In that case, I don't want it. |

I always make them send a shot of the pickup. Too many lame ones, not enough good ones; especially when it comes to some of the brands like Harmony where they made a few good ones and BOATLOADS of lame-O guitars. |

Terry-- if Ron wants to hang on to his, I've got one of the choc. Maniloffs. Richard-- bought a supposedly "rare" marbled dark green Maniloff bar on eBay. Wish it (and I) played as good as it looks. --Steve |

Just be aware that HARMONY was never noted for building GREAT guitars and this model is typical of their student style. Nothing to write home about, however the accessories might be rather appealing for a collector. Years ago, while in music retail, I sold many HARMONY guitars similar to this to those who were just starting out. |
